Sustainable tourism in France : opportunity of a national symposium

The French Agency for Environment and Energy (ADEME) conducts various actions for the development of a more sustainable tourism and has asked Alphéeis to study the opportunity of organizing a national symposium on tourism and environment.

At first, Alphéeis worked out state of the art of the French public and private tourism market players to evaluate their expectations.

Then a broad telephone survey allowed to know in which way a national symposium could contribute to the development of more sustainable tourism in France.

Finally, one second investigation made with 40 key-actors specified the expectations and interests that can be introduced inside a national symposium.

The study carried out by Alpheeis has mainly consisted in identifying the needs for information of the various actors involved in the French tourism sector, and in defining in which way a national symposium could contribute to the development of a more environmental friendly tourism in France.

This study is reinforcing the actions already taken by Alpheeis (in particular in the accommodation sector) for a more sustainable tourist offer.
