National Observatory of Fuel Poverty

Alphéeis, with these partners CSTB, CREDOC, ARAIS, CLER, Habitat&Développement, LMVT (IFSTTAR) has been selected by the National Observatory of Fuel Poverty to carry out a study to observe and to follow data dealing with fuel poverty.

This study aims at collecting data on that phenomenon among all the Public Authorities and private companies involved in this field to be able to better characterise people concerned and to provide relevant and reliable information as a decision-making tool dedicated to National and local actors in charge of actions to fight against fuel poverty.

Coordination of the research workshop launched by the “Fondation Bâtiment-Energie” on guarantee of energy performance

Alphéeis was chosen by the “Fondation Bâtiment-Energie” to animate the research workshop, launched during the second half of 2010, on the energy performance guarantee.

This workshop aims to define a comprehensive methodology for measurement and verification (M & V) for promoting the development of energy performance guarantee for "global" energy retrofitted buildings.

As part of this mission, Alphéeis was in charge of drafting the work program to be conducted by the "research" group, which consists of 17 organizations (research laboratories, industrial, offices, etc.) and an "users" group representative of owners and managers of commercial buildings and residential community.

During the implementation of the work program, Alphéeis will be responsible for leading and coordinating the workshop.

Energy-efficient building renovation : territorial policies assessment

In 2009, the French Ministry in charge of Sustainable Development initiated a cooperative programme to monitor and evaluate of case studies in France. The purpose of this programme is to provide a reference corpus in various sector (energy, environment, economy, organisation) and to analyse why progress have been made and how to rectifiy deficiencies.

Under this program, Alphéeis carries out a study on energy renovation territorial policies and the interest of territorial approach for renovation of building.

Through this study Alphéeis adopts two distinct approaches:

- on one hand the study aims at analysing stakeholders feedbacks and aspects on which the success of these policies depends.

- on the other hand it aims at analysing refurbishment projets owners feedbacks and territorial policies impacts (project gouvernance, economic aspects,...) on theese projects.

Satisfaction and behaviours of inhabitants of low energy consumption individual houses

How inhabitants of low-energy consumption individual houses appreciate the comfort of living and how their behaviours impact the energy consumed? These are the two questions Alphéeis investigate for an international energy provider. To answer them, a two year on-field study will be carried out on a panel of low energy consumption houses, involving interviews with the occupiers and monitoring of their energy consumption.

By placing the occupier at the very centre of the attention, this study will help understand the differences between the calculated and measured energy consumptions and will provide precious information on how the occupiers appreciate the quality of living in such houses and the equipments in place.
